모두가 잠든 새벽 시간에 하루를 조용히 열어가는 사람이 있다는 것,숨을 들이마시고 내쉬기만 해도 기도가 된다는 것, 한 발짝 물러설 때 새로이 보이고 들리는 마음이 있다는 것. 모두 이 영상 작업을 위해 신경희 작가님과 만나 이야기를 나누며 기록한 내용들입니다. 가을에 시작해서 폭설이 부는 겨울이 되기까지 작가님의 삶에 잠시간 방문해 어깨너머로 바라보고, 배우고, 나눌 수 있어 행복했습니다. 영상은 2024 공예 트렌드 페어 작가님의 부스에 4일간 상영되었습니다.

This video work is based on conversations and notes recorded while meeting with artist Kyunghee Shin. It reflects presence of someone quietly beginning the day before dawn, the idea that simply breathing in and out can become prayer, and the awareness that appears when one takes a step back. From autumn until winter, when heavy snow began to fall, I was happy to briefly enter the artist’s life, watching, learning, and sharing from close by. The video was screened for four days at the artist’s booth at Craft Trend Fair 2024. 

“What kind of heart does a flower hold? 

Only the flower waiting to bloom within its bud knows. 

What I found on this journey was one thing. 

the voice rising from my center and acceptance.
